Job Description: As a Reservations Manager you will be creating plans to make sure the business’ rates are suitable according to demand and availability, tracking the rates and number of guests with the property management system and working with the revenue manager to boost the number of guests at the hotel or restaurant. You’ll also liaise with the hotel or restaurant manager to create strategies that ensure that the full amount of people are staying or eating at the business.

  • Your duties may include:
  • Liaising with central reservations to communicate new rate plans and promotions
  • Liaising with Travel Agents, the Revenue Manager and the Rooms Division Manager
  • Assisting the sales team set their rates
  • Maintaining the in-house reservations systems
  • Forecasting revenue streams
  • In smaller hotels, you may be directly involved with room sales
  • Managing your team effectively
  • Supporting the delivery of revenue budgets
  • Assisting with the rooms revenue forecast to send to the Revenue Manager on a weekly basis
  • Assisting in rate parity issues (deciding whether your room rates are the same regardless of the marketing channel i.e. online or in the hotel)
  • To provide efficient, professional, helpful and friendly service to internal and external guests
  • Helping the reservations department with their day-to-day duties
  • Ensuring that the hotel reservations policy and procedures are followed
  • To deal with guest comments and complaints in a constructive and empathetic manner
