ProStart’s school-to-career training program for high school students is supported by educators in more than 30 of Washington’s public schools. As part of our commitment to propel students into great culinary and hospitality careers we support our teachers who work with the kids day in and day out.

Our annual ProStart Teacher Training Institute is a one-day conference that provides:

  • Relevant training pertinent to the restaurant industry
  • New technology
  • Best practices
  • Learning from other teachers
  • How to prepare for the Invitational                                                                                                                                                                                                           wayne-johnson

This year presents Special Guest Chef Wayne Johnson – he will be conducting a demonstration for the Fall Institute.  Chef Johnson is the co-partner of Shuga Jazz Bistro in Renton, Washington, and in 2011 competed against Iron Chef Michael Symon on the popular Food Network show “Iron Chef America.”  In early 2016, he became the Executive Chef of FareStart, which gives job training for the homeless, those in recovery, and other vulnerable individuals.
