Scholarships are an important part of every education. Costs are going up, and it’s becoming more difficult to find funds to cover the rising tuition rates. We here at the Washington Hospitality Association Education Foundation (WHAEF) have found a few scholarship opportunities that ProStart students may qualify for. Here are the links to the applications and more information; happy hunting!
These first two are given by the Washington Hospitality Association Education Foundation. Preference will be given to Washington State residents. Must be a junior or a senior who is enrolled in an industry-related program at a post-secondary institution, and the second scholarship application is specific to students enrolled in a ProStart program.
The National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) has compiled a list of scholarships put on by their own organization, and also by private individuals. The criteria is unique to each scholarship; follow this link and take a look at these opportunities!
The Joan Hill Scholarship is provided by the Seattle Foundation. Joan Hill has a passion for young people, and preference will be given to those students who have been displaced from their home, and who have overcome hardship.
We would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the WHA Member Services Corporation, which donated and funded the last two years of available scholarship money. This a true representation of current hospitality professionals supporting and developing our future hospitality workforce.
The Washington State Chefs Association and American Academy of Chefs is proud to announce the introduction of 3 annual culinary scholarships for ACF Student Members. Each scholarship will be given out in the value of $1000.00 three times a year to a student who is currently enrolled in a culinary arts program or a high school senior about to enter a post secondary program. Apprentices are also eligible.
